Next week is the annual RSA Conference, and the cybersecurity community will be coming together to discuss how we can keep organisations safe from the latest cyber crime efforts. In fact, all of the security vendors just left our secret meeting where we discussed what message we will all be using on our booths. Below are three things to see:
- This week we announced our annual Human Factor cybercrime report. It details how cyber criminals significantly shifted their strategy in 2015 to fool humans into becoming unwitting accomplices in the attack chain, rather than invest in technical exploits. We dive into trends across email, social media platforms and mobile applications to reveal attacker behaviours and recommend how organisations can secure their systems to combat the human factor. Hard copies will be available at our booth.
- Join me on Thursday, March 3 at 10:20 a.m. as I discuss “Social, Mobile and Millennials: People Make the Best Exploits.” During the talk in the North Hall Briefing Center, I’ll outline our Human Factor findings and why users continue to be highly vulnerable to attacks across email, social media and mobile applications.
- Don’t miss our vice president of Engineering, Wayne Huang, discussing “Witness the Russian Attack: Live Demos of Their Steps, Tools, Techniques.” Come see a live demo of never-before disclosed Russian crimeware. Wayne will explain the tools and techniques that compromise legitimate sites, inject backdoors and malicious code, add botnet features to existing malware, operate botnets, check antivirus detection rates, and circumvent security scanning.
If you are attending the RSA Conference next week, I encourage you to take a few minutes and stop by the Proofpoint booth. We will be exhibiting at booth 3215 in the North Expo Hall in Moscone Center. When you walk in the North Hall, take a right and go three rows down. If you can’t make it, stay tuned to our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn channels for the latest news.
